Literally delicious. I recommend making reservations because gets crowded. First time we forgot and had to wait a bit. But it was totally worth it. Service was excellent and fast. We had spaghetti, carpaccio and pizza bread. And the artichoke hearts as appetizer. Perfecto!

What a gem of an Italian restaurant! We were greeted by the owner, Mauricio, at the door. Seated immediately and were in awe of how charming the restaurant was. The food is beyond comparison. They have an award winning pizza maestro! Mauricio couldn't have been more sweet. We are so happy to have had the opportunity to have found IL Posto. We look forward to coming back time and time again.

13 of us dined at Il Posto to celebrate our college grad. What a great evening we had! The food was fantastic and the price point was so refreshing. Gustsvo, our waiter was such a gentleman and treated our family like his own. I recommend the appetizer sampler, the prosciutto burrata was to die for. We cannot wait to go back!

Best Italian Restaurant in San Diego!!! Customer service was also amazing! Ask for Mateo he is truly the best!! You can see all the love that they put in every detail and the flavor ! Will be back again very soon!

The food was truly spectacular. You have to order the Daniels pizza and the risotto. It was an amazing experience. 100% recommended

I write for food blogs and travel magazines and this is one of my favorite spots in san diego. I can’t believe it took me so long to come here. We sat at the bar and our server was Davide who is one of the harvest workers I’ve ever seen, and so pleasant while he slays behind the bar. Everything came out well timed, they were the perfect blend of attentive and giving you space. The food was excellent; the kind of standard Italian fare I would expect at a typical bistro anywhere in Italy. The perfect neighborhood spot; we will become regulars.

Wonderful neighborhood gem! Discovered this on a recent visit to San Diego. We arrived at 5:15 and the restaurant was already 1/3 full. Service was friendly and the food came out quickly. We ordered the Trio alla Italiana and Spinach salad as starters. They didn’t offer a kid’s menu which wasn’t a problem as you can easily customize your own pasta and my son ordered the penne with vodka sauce (not pictured) which he loved. Adults ordered the Salmone in Crosta di Pistacchio and the fish special which was a Branzino with shrimp in a lemon cream sauce. Both were excellent! We finished with an amazing Tiramisu. Ambiance is warm and cozy. Would highly recommend to others looking for a delicious Italian meal.

My partner and I stumbled upon this place while visiting the area, and so far, it has been the best place we've eaten for our anniversary trip (we had reservations at other places that didn't even come close to to being as good as this place). The staff was so friendly, almost familial, the ambiance was clean, fresh and hip, and most importantly, the food was on another level; I recommend the Ravioli Special if it's still on the menu. It's rare to walk out of a restaurant these days feeling so content AND eager to return.
